Winter Sports in Törbel

T

örbel is just south of Visp, above the village of Stalden at the head of the Saas valley. Together with Bürchen it provides good access to the Moosalp pistes and is one of the group of small resorts around Visp accessible with the Snow'n'Rail scheme from the Swiss railways. The pistes tend to be uncrowded, there is some good off-piste and there are lovely views across the Rhône valley. Unfortunately you are largely limited to surface lifts to explore the terrain, but there is one of the best mountain restaurants in the Alps to visit.
