Ski and snowboard Evolène - winter sports in and near Val d'Hérens

n the picturesque Val D'Herens peaceful Evolène lies above the flood-prone river and is protected from avalanches by the forests around it. One of three unconnected resorts in Val D'Herens, the skiing is perhaps somewhat overshadowed by the nearby and more accessible Quattre Vallées resorts, which spill over into the valley. However these slopes are quiet even at weekends and the resort has a loyal following of repeat visitors.

The main lifts are at Lannaz, a small community above Evolène, at least 20 minutes walk away from the village. However a courtesy bus runs between Evoène and Lannaz and free parking is available.
