es Masses lies in the Val D'Herens, in the municipality of Hérémence, around 17km from Sion. It is the most easterly resort in the Four Valleys ski area and lies beneath Thyon, a quiet community full of rustic charm with basic amenities, including a restaurant, a shop and a ski pass ticket office. it feels relaxed and off the beaten track, but a new chairlift has transformed this tiny village as a gateway to one of the world's great ski circuits. There is a limited area pass for the Printse area (including Thyon, Haute-Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Les Masses and Les Collons) as well as a pass covering the entire region of 4 Vallées/Mont Fort, but from Les Masses it takes some time to get across to Tortin where the full pass kicks in, so for most days in the resort the more limited pass probably is sufficient and a top-up can be purchased for just the days you go further afield.
