Winter Sports in Frutigen

rutigen is a small town with a BLS railway station, from where bus services run to most of the pistes of the Adelboden-Lenk winter sports region, including the nearby slopes at Elsigenalp. The town lies at the northern entrance to the 25km Lötschberg Base Tunnel, and the geothermal energy from the water run-off heats a very interesting Tropical House in the town itself.
Where to Eat and Party
At Elsigenalp the locals highly rate the Elsigehütte (old shepherd hut) for a tipple and some traditional Swiss "Käseschnitten".

By Public Transport
The best destination to access the downhill slopes by public transport in this ski area is Frutigen. There is a courtesy bus from the station to the lifts - consult resort web site or SBB web site for current schedule.
