ilisur, a beautiful Alpine village of about 600 people is the location of a ruined castle and the famous Landwasser Viaduct (on the UNESCO heritage railway line running from Thusis to Tirano, via Filisur). From a winter sports perspective, however, Filisur is on a junction of the Rhaetian Railways, with trains running to St Moritz and the Engadine (less than an hour away), Bergün (10 minutes away) and Davos (half an hour away), making it a good location to explore some of the best winter sports destinations in Graubünden. For rail buffs it is an ideal base, with the Hotel Restaurant Grischuna located right on the station.
