he often overlooked First pistes run down into Grindelwald and provide good variety and an absence of queues unless bad weather closes the other side of the valley. They generally suit intermediates, although the resort runs are a bit more challenging and don't take you all the way into Grindelwald. A trail runs down from Burt to Bodmi, where there is a very pleasant small area for beginners, and - if conditions allow - you can take the run down from there to the First gondola base station. The area has the best parks in the Jungfrau, with an 850m park at Bärgelegg and an additional one mooted for next season at Oberjoch. In addition a half-pipe is usually set up at Schreckfeld.

By Public Transport
The best destination to access the downhill slopes by public transport in this ski area is Grindelwald. Get your lift pass at Grindelwald, then walk uphill from the station or take a bus to First ( the stop is adjacent to gondola).
