Ski and Snowboard Switzerland from Vevey

Vevey Fête des Vignerons

Every 20 years Vevey hosts the Fête des Vignerons, and the next one is not due until 2039. The good thing about the ski season is it that happens every year.

Vevey is a great location in its own right, sitting on the shores of Lake Geneva. However it also provides easy access by road or rail to some of the best ski resorts in Europe. Resorts which are easy to reach for a day trip are Villars, Gstaad, Leysin, Glacier3000,Les Diablerets, Les Portes du Soleil and Verbier. In addition, the resort of Les Pléiades is served by a cog railway running out of Vevey's main CFF railway station. It is only a small resort, but convenient and has three good mountain restaurants.

Fine dining is no stranger to Vevey, no doubt influenced by Vevey's location as the Global Headquarters for Nestlé. The restaurants Denis Martin, Les Ateliers, Grand Hôtel du Lac and Ze Fork get a glittering amount of points from GaultMillau. For accommodation I recommend you visit Bookings.com
