erman-speaking Bivio is an ancient community, it's name betraying its Italian and Romansh history. Its name means the parting of the ways, since it lies high up at the separation of the Julier and Septimer passes. It is a popular resort to head off on ski tours, and also has a good amount of off-piste accessible from the modest lift system. However it also has a good range of winter sports activities and a reasonable extent of pisted runs.
